The Butterfly Effect is an event to celebrate and promote women and their participation in ocean sports. The aim is to instill self-confidence and a love for the ocean in women of all skill levels by providing one-day downwind events.

It was a beautiful sunny and windy day. More than 50 girls joined the 4km non competitive downwind ride from Cabarete bay to playa Encuentro on SUP, kite, windsurf and kayak.

We started first the morning with a beach clean up. The Butterfly Effect also aims to work with the local community by providing requested necessities, volunteer work and other community services. The Butterfly with the help of the DREAM Project kids did a great job collecting lot of garbage.

Then we had a nice stretching on the beach and Vela Cabarete with Claro’s offered us some delicious healthy juices and snacks that provided us great energy for the downwinder.
