When MASTERS reunite!!!!
Cabarete hosted one of the most amazing surfing competition this week-end at “Playa Encuentro”, the best surf spot from the North Coast.
The concept of the event was a reunion for the surfers that have surfed since the sport started in the Dominican Republic. There was a live band on the beach playing music from the 60’s 70’s and 80’s, food and drink stands. It was a great weekend “get-together” an brought lot of people to Cabarete.
Winter is definitely kicking in we can see some nice swell rolling in. The wind was a bit shy this week-end but the forecast shows some good action coming. Be ready for some actions !
been at agualina, kitebeach since 3 weeks now. had some great wind the first 2 weeks. wind left the last week, to return yesterday again, but from the left!! unusual for here, but loads of fun as well! looks like another day with wind’s from the left, today. then a couple of days of no wind, and by the weekend the wind should be returning from the right, or the eastern trade winds!! Offcourse there’s always surfing to do. Even Jens and Audrey are surfing every morning these days at Encuentro.
Also had some great stand up paddle sessions right on the reef of kite beach. It’s like a 5 minute paddle out through the reef, and you’ll be riding wave after wave! Just loving it! It only get’s a bit tricky when the waves are up a bit, since my SUP-ing isn’t all that good yet!
Cabarete is the best for me, cause there’s always something to do here! Surfing, kiting, windsurfing, Sup-ing and night life! that’s why i’ll keep on coming back!
